Anyone who's into vegetable growing and gardens will appreciate Chris's superb landscape oil paintings  - with all their well-observed detail and delicate coloration, often based on a limited palette. Who knows, better than a gardener, that there are so many shades of green?

For the 2024 spring season she has focused on the produce of the garden, painted in delicate shades and limited palettes, celebrating the plains of colour and the lighting on them.

“I'm intrigued by light and colour and the beautiful complexities of oil paint.”

These - and other new work of a similar ilk - can be purchased individually or in pairs - ideal for a kitchen or dining area.

Chris gained a degree in Fine Art in 1982 and has been painting all her life. She paints still life, landscape and occasional portraits. More recently, she has also branched out into lino prints.

“I'm intrigued by light and colour and the beautiful complexities of oil paint.”

Still life work takes shape in her studio in Stroud; Gloucestershire landscapes are painted out in the field.

She is a member of the prestigious Cheltenham Group of Artists and exhibits in group and solo shows locally and around the country.

Her work is in private and public collections across the UK and she participates in Stroud Open Studios each year. With many years of teaching experience behind her, she also has an extensive knowledge of art materials and expertise in colour mixing.
