Simon is making his debut here in 2025 and, especially for us, he has reconceived and rescaled his usual outdoor sculptures to make them suitable for interiors. So, instead of his customary water features we have a pair of hand-cut sculptures enhanced by integral light - forming two very striking standard lamps, talking points in their own right.

"The original idea for this sculpture came from a fern I picked up on my favourite beach in Wales - Barafundle Bay. Its fine intricate two-dimensional structure fascinated me and inspired me to think about how I could create a thee-dimensional sculpture out of two-dimensional shapes.

"The Core was the result, a piece designed to stimulate the creative mind, made out of interlocking pieces."

Simon has swapped his traditional passion with the effects that can be created using water for the intriguing forms and shadows that these lights can create on walls and in room settings. The impact of a beautiful sculpture in a garden or courtyard  space can be incredible;  evoking  reflection, peace and pleasure. So it is in the home: "Then add to this the mesmerising effect of the involvement of light and the sculpture comes alive and something truly magical can happen."

Both lights come with very long wires and press switches, so they can be customised to the client's needs after purchase.

Simon's unique sculptures and designs cover a wide spectrum of art and function, from batch-produced artworks to advanced customised and highly individual private or public display commissions.

All are uniquely and personally designed for the garden,  estate or home.

He uses a variety of materials and construction techniques to build contemporary forms and striking artistic statements.

"My modern sculpture is  often the culmination of water sculpture and involvement  with other professionals, such as garden designers, landscape architects, construction companies and, chiefly, the discerning individuals whose visions makes all this possible."

His vast experience, with water sculptures and as a product designer, is invaluable and ensures his imaginative ideas are transformed into contemporary metal sculptures, made to the highest possible standard.

Having trained as a product and industrial designer, both at Ravensbourne College of Art and the RCA, he gained a huge amount of knowledge in design and construction. His time as a designer for The Architects CSJW, working on the new British Library, was invaluable, providing a fantastic insight into using materials with both beauty and longevity.
